Using the Help Centre

Table of contents

Introduction

The Help Centre can be used to search for regulatory and technical guidance, official templates, frequently asked questions, and communications from the TMS Helpdesk. The Help Centre content is available to both TMS and non-TMS users.

Only TMS users can use the Help Centre to submit a support request to the TMS Helpdesk.

If you believe you need access to TMS, check that you fulfil the requirements to be a TMS user and then contact your Member Association, which can request a TMS account on your behalf.

The search bar is the quickest way to find information. You can search by process name, topic, keyword, document type, or error message.

For example, you can search for:

  • a process, such as international transfers, player confirmation, ITC, loans, minors, or claims;
  • a type of document, such as a regulation, template or circular letter;
  • a task you need to complete in TMS;
  • a specific Helpdesk communication or release note.

Use the section that matches what you need

The Help Centre is organised into sections so you can choose the path that matches what you are trying to do.

Knowledge base

Use the knowledge base when you want to understand a process or find step-by-step guidance. It contains regulatory and technical guidance, process explanations, and practical instructions.

Document library

Use the document library when you are looking for a file or official reference material. The document library includes filters for regulations, templates, circular letters, and other documents.

Frequently asked questions

Use the FAQ section when you need a quick answer to a common question. FAQ sections may also link to related guidance in the knowledge base.

Communications

Use communications to read official notices, updates, release notes, newsletters, and other messages from the TMS Helpdesk.

Tickets

Tickets are available to registered TMS users after signing in. Use tickets to submit a request, review previous interactions, and follow up on an existing Helpdesk matter.

When should I submit a ticket?

If you are a registered TMS user, submit a ticket when you have reviewed the available guidance but still need help with a specific question, issue, or request.

When submitting a ticket, include enough information for the Helpdesk team to understand the issue, such as:

  • the process or task you are working on;
  • the relevant transfer, instruction, player, club, or association information where applicable;
  • screenshots or error messages, if available;
  • the steps you already tried;
  • any deadline or urgency that the Helpdesk team should be aware of.

Language and device support

The Help Centre is available in English, French, and Spanish. You can change the language from the language selector in the header.

The Help Centre can be used on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. On smaller screens, open the menu to access the main sections.

Tips for finding the right information

  • Start with the search bar if you know the process, document name, or keyword.
  • Use the knowledge base for guidance and process explanations.
  • Use the document library when you need an official file, template, regulation, or circular letter.
  • Use the FAQ section for quick answers.
  • Use communications to check official Helpdesk updates.
  • Sign in if you are a registered TMS user and need to submit or follow up on a ticket.
